Clinical Psychologist and Somatic Therapist

My work is informed by a deep interest in the intersection of the mind, body, emotions and spirit. As well as the more conventional approaches of clinical psychology I make active use of my background in yoga, meditation and creative arts therapies. My approach is guided by assisting you to identify your deeper life callings and how you might make these more central to your lived experience. I have presented aspects of my work at conferences in Australian capital cities and internationally in Berlin and Berne, Switzerland. As well as my work as a therapist I am a musician, gardener and nature lover.
My approach is best characterised as working towards a more wholehearted, active and easy connection with life as experienced in the present moment. This may require an engagement with limiting patterns of relationship and behaviour acquired during your formative years, as well as the creation of a more open, creative and flexible attitude within current circumstances.
I make use of the analytical processes of clinical psychology as well as the therapeutic application of yoga, meditation and creative arts practices. In addition I have trained extensively in somatic and emotion-focussed therapies. Your active involvement in the goals and means of psychotherapy is welcomed and will form a central part of our initial conversations.
I have undergone training in an extensive range of therapeutic modalities including dreamwork, strategic therapy, clinical psychology, internal family systems, voice dialogue, yoga therapy, meditation practices, somatic psychotherapy, arts therapies, mindfulness practices, psychoanalytic psychotherapy and emotion focussed therapies. Typically therapy involves the use of a few key approaches depending upon your individual situation.
The duration and frequency of therapy are issues discussed during our initial conversations in order to design an approach suitable to your particular situation. I am available for a brief telephone consultation (free of charge) prior to making an appointment. My work is covered by Medicare rebates provided the appropriate GP referral is in place, and you can also claim private health rebates dependent upon your level of cover.
If you are interested in checking my availability and exploring whether my services might be appropriate to your needs please call me direct on 0419 529 562.

NEUROFASCIAL BODYWORK
A unique integration of complementary approaches that address movement, fascia, nervous system regulation, and overall wellbeing. Working with the body's connective tissue network (fascia) to release restrictions, improve movement, reduce pain, and restore functional alignment. This approach addresses compensation patterns, asymmetries, and areas where the body has lost its natural ease and adaptability.
Benefits include
Improved flexibility, mobility, and posture
Reduced pain, tension, and fascial restrictions
Enhanced nervous system regulation and stress resilience
Better balance, coordination, and body awareness
Improved breathing and relaxation
Greater sense of wellbeing, vitality, and embodiment
Support for healthy facial tone and natural expression
This integrated approach supports the body's innate capacity for balance, self-regulation, and optimal function by addressing the interconnected relationships between movement, fascia, the nervous system, and facial expression.
ADVANCED THAI YOGA MASSAGE
A unique integration of complementary approaches that address movement, fascia, nervous system regulation, and overall wellbeing. Working with the body's connective tissue network (fascia) to release restrictions, improve movement, reduce pain, and restore functional alignment. This approach addresses compensation patterns, asymmetries, and areas where the body has lost its natural ease and adaptability.
A dynamic form of bodywork incorporating assisted stretching, yoga-like postures, acupressure, and rhythmic movement.
Benefits include: improved flexibility, mobility, circulation, and the free flow of energy throughout the body.
CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY
This is a very gentle therapy focussing on the head and spine. Gentle techniques help regulate the autonomic nervous system, and vagus nerve response. This supports deep relaxation, emotional balance, resilience, and an improved capacity for connection.
NATURAL FACELIFT THERAPY
A 6 session, non-invasive treatment that works with the fascia and connective tissues of the face, jaw, scalp, neck, and shoulders to release long-held patterns of tension and restore natural ease of expression. By improving circulation, tissue hydration, and muscular balance, this therapy may help soften facial tension, enhance facial vitality, and support a naturally refreshed appearance. Suitable for all ages. Very appropriate for those who hold tension in jaw and scalp or for general stress release.
NATURAL REMEDIES
Martin also consults on natural healing remedies. He is able to provide various tinctures and oils that assist in the healing process. Martin is a well known alchemist and creates individual remedies for you as needed.
-
For over 25 years, I have studied and practised a wide range of healing modalities throughout Norway, Denmark, Thailand, and Australia. Drawing on extensive training and hands-on experience, I have developed an integrative approach that combines effective techniques for working with both the body and the nervous system.
My studies with leading pioneers in the fields of fascia, movement, and nervous system regulation—including Tom Myers and Stanley Rosenberg—have helped shape a treatment approach focused on restoring freedom of movement, improving nervous system function, and supporting the body's innate capacity for healing and self-regulation.
I believe that lasting change occurs when we address the whole person, not just isolated symptoms. Every session is tailored to your unique needs, taking into account your physical health, lifestyle, stress levels, personal history, and goals for the future. Whether you are seeking relief from pain, recovering from injury, managing stress, or simply wanting to feel more connected and at ease in your body, treatments are designed to meet you where you are.
Alongside hands-on therapy, I may suggest complementary practices such as movement and stretching exercises, breathing techniques, meditation, herbal and flower essences, nutritional support, and other natural approaches to wellbeing. These recommendations are offered as educational support for your personal wellness journey and are not intended as medical advice.

REIKI
Reiki is a complementary healing practice that originated in Japan in the early 20th century.
Reiki practitioners channel “universal life energy” through their hands to support a person’s physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Sessions typically involve light touch or hands placed just above the body in a calm and meditative setting.
In healthcare, Reiki is generally understood as a relaxation-based intervention that can influence the body’s stress responses, by activating the parasympathetic nervous system. This “rest and digest” state can lower your heart rate, reduce your blood pressure, and promote deep relaxation.
Reiki may also aid in pain management by decreasing cortisol (stress hormone) levels, thereby reducing chronic inflammation. In addition, the gentle touch in a calming environment may also support mental and emotional wellbeing. People often report feeling calmer, more balanced, and less distressed after sessions.

Chrissi
Natural healer & Reiki practitioner
-
Chrissi is a natural healer and has been practising Reiki since 2023. She is very passionate about helping people, their furry companions, and even flora, to feel the best they can and support them in their healing and life journey. Her genuine care and gentle approach helps people and animals relax and surrender to the energy provided.
Chrissi also works with dogs and other animals, particularly the ones that are anxious and often fearful of their environment. Animals (particularly cats, dogs and horses) are highly sensitive to energy, making them the ideal client because they don't let overthinking get in the way of a good healing journey.
Chrissi's favourite client is her own cat Merlin, who has the pleasure of receiving Reiki every morning. Merlin was operated on at the very young age of 5 for a luxating patella, stage 3. This condition caused him to develop arthritis at a very young age. Merlin is now 14 years old and still races though the courtyard, climbs up trees and plays his favourite games of chasing strings and hide & seek. He has turned from being inactive and depressed to being cheeky & playful again.
Chrissi thanks the universe every day for bringing Reiki her way and wants to share it with as many beings as possible, in the hope for them to also feel the many benefits it has to offer and to help them on their individual journeys.
YOGA THERAPY
Yoga therapy has many benefits. It is primarily a way of assisting you to develop a personalised program for at home practice.
In a yoga therapy consultation, you may be dealing with a specific health issue that needs addressing or just be needing some personal instruction before you feel ready to attend group class. Yoga Therapy is a specialisation of yoga and a yoga therapist will have an in-depth knowledge of anatomy as well as healing through Ayurvedic knowledge.
